In this off-campus course, students will become skilled at taking blood pressure, pulse, and body temperature. The program will also develop skills to communicate with Alzheimer’s patients, practice daily patient care and discover how to become a member of a healthcare team. This course is a dual enrollment course with Moraine Valley Community College. Students will be released to attend classes at a Moraine Valley campus. Students may earn 7 college credits from Moraine Valley, qualify for the State Competency Exam and earn 1 elective high school credit. Please Note: Students should work with their counselor to obtain high school credit on their high school transcript. This course is taught at an off-site location and students must provide their own transportation. Prerequisite: Students must be in senior standing to complete the pre-application process. A formal application must be completed in a timely manner by inquiring students. Space is limited based on Moraine Valley enrollment.
